| Bassett Brothers Proprietors of Yellowstone National Park Stage Line Six sons of Charles Henry Bassett operated a stagecoach and freight hauling business from Beaver Canyon,
Idaho to Yellowstone Park from 1880 to 1896. Some of them were in Virginia City, Montana the winter of
1880-81 as mail carriers at the time the vigilantes were ridding the town of thieves. No one was safe leaving the
town because of thieves and murderers along the main road. They saved themselves by abandoning their horses
and gear and walking out away from the main road.

| Geertsen: Peter C Geertsen Journal from 1855 to 1865 I intend on the following sheets of paper to record my birth, extraction, upbringing, and
life, followed by a diary beginning with 14 October 1855, in order that if the Lord should allow
me to live and have the joy of receiving offspring they may have a reliable account of what has
happened to me from my earliest childhood and of what I have accomplished in life, which I
know will please them as well as others who at some time might wish to know my origin.
