Notes:

BIRTH: Robert is probably the son of William Channon of Sidmouth, whose will, 2 Mar 1566, proved 3 Apr 1567, Archdeaconry Court of Exeter, mentions a wife Alice and no children. However, the inv of his estate shows that he had a son Harry who owed a debt to the estate as did "[Ro]bart" Channon (no relationship stated). The will is abstracted in Olive M. Moger, "Transcript of Devonshire Wills," 44 vols. (typescript, n.d.), 7:976 (FHL #Q942.35 S2m). Date and place of birth are approximations. The wills of this court were destroyed in 1942.
