Generation: 1

  1. 1.  Fuller, John was born about 1648 in Scituate,Plymouth,MA (son of Fuller, Samuel and Lothrop, Jane); died on 23 Mar 1726 in East Haddam,Middlesex,CT.

    Notes:

BIRTH: No birth rec found. John is identified in the will of his father, Samuel Fuller of Barnstable, 29 Oct 1683, proved 10 Mar 1683/4, Plymouth Colony Probate, 4:2:138-39 (FHL #567794). Date and place of birth are approximations. It is frequently stated that John was born about 1655/6, but no evidence has been found. It seems likely that if John's birth occurred in 1655 it would have been recorded in the colony records with those of his older and younger siblings born at Barnstable. A more likely interpretation is that he was born in Scituate in the gap between siblings Mary (1644) and Thomas (1650).
MAR: No mar rec found. The wife of John Fuller is identified as Mehitable Rowley in the will of her father, Moses Rowley of Haddam, Connecticut, 16 Aug 1704, proved 8 Mar 1705/6, Hartford District Probate, abstracted in Charles W. Manwaring, ed, DIGEST OF THE EARLY CONNECTICUT PROBATE RECORDS, 3 vols. (Hartford, 1904-1906), 2:107 (FHL #974.6 P2m).
DEATH: Date and place of death are included in the probate file of John Fuller. See the will of John Fuller of East Haddam, 28 Feb 1725/6, proved 21 Apr 1726, inv 8 Apr 1726, Hartford District Probate Files, #2081 (FHL #1020590). Technically, East Haddam was not established as a separate town until the division of Haddam in 1734. However, John's will states that he was "of Haddam on the East Side of the River." Apparently, a distiction was made by 1726.

  4. 7.  Howse, Hannah was born about 1590 in England (daughter of Howse, John and Alice); died in 1633/1634 in London,Eng.

    Notes:

BIRTH: No birth rec found. Hannah is undoubtedly the dau of Rev. John Howse of Eastwell, the only family of this name in the parish when Hannah was married there in 1610. She is called "of Eastwell" on mar lic, below. In the recs of his church, Rev. John Lothrop, husband of Hannah Howse refers to Elizabeth Hammond, wife of Samuel Howse, as "sister," and to Robert Linnell as "brother." Samuel House and Pennina, wife of Robert Linnell, are proved children of Rev. John Howse of Eastwell. See "Scituate and Barnstable Church Records," NEHGR, 9(1855):280, 286 (FHL #974.4 M25md).

DEATH: No death rec found. Hannah's death is mentioned in Nathaniel Morton, NEW ENGLAND'S MEMORIAL (Plymouth, MA, 1826), 257 (FHL #1421589 item 3). Morton was a contemporary of John Lothrop. The original ms was written in 1669. Hannah died while her husband was imprisoned in London; hence she died probably in 1633/4.

  1. 8.  Fuller, Robert was born about 1537 in of Redenhall,Norfolk,Eng (son of Fuller, John); was buried on 23 May 1614 in Redenhall,Norfolk,Eng.

    Notes:

BIRTH: No birth rec found. Robert is identified in the will of his father, John Fuller, the elder, of Redenhall, 4 Feb 1558/9, proved 12 May 1559, Consistory Court of Norwich, reg wills, 68:325-26 (FHL #094898). Date and place of birth are approximations. Robert was probably over 21 when his father wrote his will, as there was no mention of his minority.

    OCC: Butcher
NOTE: There were two Robert Fullers in Redenhall at the same time. That this is the Robert chr in 1575 and named in the will of John Fuller (1558/9) is suggested by the relationship of his grandson Matthew Fullerof Plymouth to Giles Fuller of Hampton, NH. Giles called Matthew his kinsman. Giles is a great-grandson of John Fuller. Hence, it is most likely that Matthew is also a descendant of John Fuller. It is very probable, therefore, that Robert is identical to the son Robert mentioned in John's will. Relevant documents are published in Joseph Dow, HISTORY OF THE TOWN OF HAMPTON (Salem, MA, 1893), 1:19, 2:719 (FHL #1036320 items 2,3).
