William's son Roger, who emigrated to New England, is called "cousin" in the will of another New England immigrant, John Clapp of Dorchester, 11 Jul 1655, proved 30 Aug 1655, Suffolk Co. Probate, misc docket, (o.s.) 1:111 (FHL #584127). John Clapp is a proved son of Nicholas Clapp. John's will mentions several brothers, nieces, and nephews who are mentioned in the will of Nicholas Clapp of Venn Ottery, Devon, 12 Mar 1631/2, proved 29 Mar 1632, Archdeaconry Court of Exeter.
