See William Prescott, THE PRESCOTT MEMORIAL (Boston, 1870), 231 (FHL #982013 item 3); also Sybil Noyes, Charles Thornton Libby, and Walter Goodwin Davis, GENEALOGICAL DICTIONARY OF MAINE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE (Portland, ME, 1928-39; repr Baltimore, 1979), 568 (FHL #974 D2n). Joshua's father is identified in New Hampshire Province Court Files, #17379 (FHL #978282). Joshua and his father were charged in 1719 with forging a deed.
    MAR: No mar rec found. However, Sarah, dau of Israel Clifford, was presented for having a child shortly after marriage to Joshua Prescott. Warrant for her arrest is dated 12 Oct 1710 (New Hampshire Province Court Files, #17845 [FHL #978285]).
    DEATH: No death rec found. Joshua was living in Kingston on 6 Mar 1726/7 when he and James Prescott sold land to Trustram Sanborn (New Hampshire Province Deeds, 15:244 [FHL #015416]).

She was the widow of Benjamin Sanborn and Philemon Dalton. James Prescott was accused of trespass by Benjamin, son of Benjamin Sanborn, deceased, 28 Jul 1747. The document shows that James Prescott married the stepmother of the plaintiff (New Hampshire Province Court Files, #20115 [FHL #980228]). Abigail Gove was married 1st to Philemon Dalton at Hampton, 25 Sep 1690 (Sanborn, VITAL RECORDS OF HAMPTON, 1:78). She married 2nd to Benjamin Sanborn abt 1726. On 30 Jul 1726 Benjamin Sanborn and his wife "Abigail Dalton alias Abigail Sanborn" with Michael Dalton, the son of Abigail, sold land to Jacob Moulton (New Hampshire Province Deeds, 27:316 [FHL #015422]). The will of Philemon Dalton of Hampton, 24 Mar 1720/1, proved 6 Sep 1721, identifies his wife Abigail and son Michael, among other children (PROBATE RECORDS OF THE PROVINCE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE, 9 vols., repr of New Hampshire State Papers Series, vols. 31-39, [Bowie, MD, 1989-90], 2:130-33 [FHL #974.2 P2p]). Hence, Abigail Gove married (1) Philemon Dalton, (2) Benjamin Sanborn, and (3) James Prescott.

Children of Jonathan Prescott and his wife Elizabeth were born in Hampton, 1696-1709 (Ibid, 1:28, 32, 39, 65, 68, 71).She was apparently the Elizabeth Pulsipher who married Isaac Clifford at Newbury, Mass., 13 Aug 1693 (VITAL RECORDS OF NEWBURY, 2 vols. [Salem, MA, 1911], 2:104 [FHL #974.45/N1 V28v]). Isaac died at Hampton, 2 May 1694 (Sanborn, VITAL RECORDS OF HAMPTON, 1:118). Elizabeth, dau of Isaac and Elizabeth (Pulsipher) Clifford, married Peter Garland. On 18 Jul 1737, Peter and Elizabeth Garland sold 4 acres in Hampton that was formerly Isaac Clifford's to "our brother" Jonathan Prescott of Kensington, they being heirs of the late Isaac Clifford (New Hampshire Province Deeds, 28:8 [FHL #015420]). Jonathan was the son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Clifford, born at Hampton, 16 Jul 1696 (Sanborn, VITAL RECORDS OF HAMPTON, 1:65). The will of Elizabeth, widow of Jonathan Prescott of Hampton Falls, 24 Jan 1755, proved 30 May 1755, mentions her dau Elizabeth Garland and son Jonathan Prescott, among others (PROBATE RECORDS OF THE PROVINCE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE, 9 vols., repr of New Hampshire State Papers Series, vols. 31-39 [Bowie, MD, 1989-90], 5:211-12 [FHL #974.2 P2p]).
    DEATH: No death rec found. For death info, see William Precott, THE PRESCOTT MEMORIAL (Boston, 1870), 231 (FHL #982013 item 3). Although no confirmation was found in original sources, the date is probably accurate, as Jonathan executed a deed in the form of a will on 11 Dec 1754, apparently shortly before his death (New Hampshire Province Deeds, 46:330 [FHL #015431]). William Prescott states that Jonathan died in Kensington, but the deed shows he was living in Hampton Falls. He was certainly dead by 24 Jan 1755, when his widow made her own will, above.
