- MAR: No mar rec found. Christian's mar to Richard Clapp is based on circumstantial evidence. Christian's will, below, identifies her son Nicholas, who is called "brother" in the will of Peter Clapp of Sidbury, 26 Mar 1622, proved 10 Jan 1622/3, Court of the Dean and Chapter of Exeter, abstracted in Olive M. Moger, "Transcript of Devonshire Wills," 44 vols. (typescript, n.d.), 12:1214 (FHL #916870). Peter, who is probably, a half-brother to Nicholas, is a son of Richard Clapp of Sidbury, as shown by his mar rec at Sidmouth. Hence, Christian is the widow of Richard Clapp.
