- BIRTH: MEMOIRS OF ROGER CLAP (Boston, 1844), originally published in Boston, 1731, Appendix by James Blake, Jr, 53 (FHL #929.273 C53d). James Blake (b. 1688) asserted that he was acquainted with the family. He was, in fact, married to a granddaughter of Roger Clapp.

MAR: No mar rec found in original source records. Children of Roger Clapp and his wife Joan were born at Dorchester beginning in 1634. Roger's will, below, mentions his "wife's Father Ford at Windsor." This could be no other than Thomas Ford. The identification is confirmed, and the mar date is supplied in Blake's Appendix to MEMOIRS OF ROGER CLAPP, 55. The Fords were also a Dorchester family in 1633 making it highly likely that the mar occurred in that place.
