- BIRTH: John was identified as a son of Thomas Burnap of Stanstead [Abbots] when he entered Caius College, Cambridge University at age 16, in 1606 (John Venn and J. A. Venn, ALUMNI CANTABRIGIENSES, pt. 1, 4 vols. [Cambridge, 1922-27], 1:260 [FHL #942.59/C1 J2c]). John is also mentioned in the will of his grandfather, Thomas Burnap of Stanstead Abbot, Jan 1593, proved 21 Mar 1596/7, Archdeaconry Court of Middlesex (Essex & Herts), reg wills, 47 Grove (FHL #094729).
