- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Date of birth is calculated from his statement that he was "aged sixty-five or thereabouts" in his will of 13 Mar1663/4, below. Godfrey married in Bakewell, Derbys, but his ancestry is unknown. Another Sheldon family of Bakewell is presented by J. Gardner Bartlett, NEHGR, 80(1926):367 (FHL #974 B2ne). This family produced the immigrant Isaac Sheldon of Windsor, Conn. Godfrey and Isaac are no doubt related, but the relationship is unknown at this time.
