- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Edgar is identified in Charles A. Towne, "Descendants of William and Joanna (Blessing) Towne" (unpublished ms, c1939-40), no. 1-8-5-2-6-1-1-6 (FHL #231886); and George B. Sedgley, GENEALOGY OF THE BURBANK FAMILY (Farmington, ME, 1928), 370 (FHL #929.273 B891s). Edgar is listed as 15 yrs old, born in Vermont, in the Tyler Burbank household, 1850 U.S. census of Sharon, Vermont, p. 101, dwelling 180 (FHL #444929). It is believed that Edgar was born in Pomfret, Vermont where the family appears in the 1830 and 1840 U.S. censuses. Also see deed, Tyler Burbank to Eliphalet Fales, 20 Mar 1832, which shows Tyler Burbank was then living in Pomfret (Pomfret Deeds, 8:312 [FHL #028670]).
