- BIRTH: No birth/chr rec found. Richard is identified in the will of his father, Richard Kimball of Ipswich, 5 Mar 1674/5, proved 28 Sep 1675 (THE PROBATE RECORDS OF ESSEX COUNTY 3 vols. [Salem, MA, 1916-20], 3:16-19 [FHL #974.45 P2p]). He is also named in the will of his grandfather Henry Scott of Rattlesden, Suffolk, 24 Sep 1623, proved 10 Jan 1624, Archdeaconry Court of Sudbury, reg wills, 49:117 (FHL #097083). Year of birth is calculated from age 11 on passenger list of ship "Elizabeth," 30 Apr 1634 (Peter Wilson Coldham, THE COMPLETE BOOK OF EMIGRANTS, 1607-1660 [Baltimore, 1987], 114-15 [FHL #973 W2col]).
MAR #1: No mar rec found. Mary, wife of Richard Kimball, died 2 Sep 1672 (VITAL RECORDS OF WENHAM [Salem, MA, 1904], 208 [FHL #974.45/W2 V28v]).
MAR #2: No mar rec found. A wife Mary is mentioned in his will, below. She was probably the widow of Charles Gott who died at Wenham, 15 Jan 1667/8. Richard's inv of estate, below, includes a debt "Dew from Daniel Gott three pounds per yeare for rent during the life of Mary the wife of the late Richard Kimball of Wenham" (Ipswich, Mass. Probate, 4:61 [FHL #873019]). Daniel is a son of Charles Gott. It appears that Daniel arranged with Richard Kimball for the rent of Mary's dower land. DEATH: VITAL RECORDS OF WENHAM, 208. Year of death is given as "167[torn]." However, estate recs of Richard Kimball offer strong evidence that he died in 1676. See the inv of estate of Richard Kimball of Wenham, 17 Jun 1676, distribution 26 Sep 1676 (THE PROBATE RECORDS OF ESSEX COUNTY, 3:72-74).
