MAR #1: No mar rec found. However, it is reported that Bathsheba married Richard Smith on 4 Mar 1670. See James Savage, GENEALOGICAL DICTIONARY OF THE FIRST SETTLERS OF NEW ENGLAND, 4 vols. (Boston, 1860-62; repr Baltimore, 1965), 4:560 (FHL #974 D2s). Also see Donald Lines Jacobus, "Richard Smith of New London," TAG, 42(1966):113 (FHL #973 D25aga). Although the mar rec is not found, mar to Richard Smith is documented by estate recs of James Rogers. On 15 Sep 1688, son John Rogers and dau "Bathshua" Smith were appointed administrators of the James Rogers estate (New London District Probate Files, #4520 [FHL #1025044]). Richard Smith and Bathshua Smith witnessed a deed for James Rogers to his sons, n.d. (ca 1672) (New London Deeds, 5:19 [FHL #005084]). Also see deed from John Smith to James Smith, 4 May 1709, in which it is stated that all interest in this land had been given by James Rogers, deceased, to his dau Bathsheba Smith, who conveyed it to her son Richard Smith, deceased, which then descended to John Smith (New London Deeds, 6:182 [FHL #005085]).
MAR #2: No mar rec found. Bathshua Fox, wife of Samuel Fox, deeded land to her son James Smith on 20 Mar 1701/2, "which my father James Rogers bought of Hugh Roberts" (New London Deeds, 6:36 [FHL #005085]).
