- BIRTH: Date of birth and father's name is from pedigree of Maximillian Mohun, grandson of Richard, drawn in 1606, cited in G. Andrews Moriarty, "Mohun (Additions and Corrections)," NEHGR, 82(1928):66-67 (FHL #974 B2ne). He is 1st of rec at Hawk church on 10 Feb 1527/8, where he appears in the court rolls of the Manor of Axminster, Devon with his sons Walter and Robert (Moriarty, "Mohun," NEHGR, 82:66-67). Also see John Hutchins, THE HISTORY AND ANTIQUITIES OF THE COUNTY OF DORSET, 2 vols. (Westminster, 1863), 2:741-42 (FHL #Q942.33 H2hu).

BUR: Richard was buried in Bridport, as the will of his son Robert specifies that he was to be buried near his parents at Bridport Church. See the will of Robert Moone, of Weymouth, Melcome-Regis, 1 Sep 1578, proved 9 Nov 1581, P.C.C., 38 Darcy (FHL #091961).
