Shurtleff and David Pulsifer, eds, RECORDS OF THE COLONY OF NEW PLYMOUTH, 12 vols. (Boston, 1855-61), 8:46 (FHL #974.4 N2n). Both of these recs give Jabez's birth year as 1642. However, his baptism was recorded as 4 Jul 1641 (see below). As the church rec was kept current, and the birth recs were often set down many years later, it is believed that the correct birth year is 1641.
