- BIRTH: Robert is identified in the will of his mother, Ellen Finney of Lenton, 8 Aug 1606, proved 16 Jan 1606/7, P.C.Y., reg wills, 30:220 (FHL #099494). Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR: No mar rec found. Robert's widow died at Plymouth, Mass., 22 Apr1650, as "Mother Feney aged fourscore years and upwards" (Nathaniel B. Shurtleff and David Pulsifer, eds, RECORDS OF THE COLONY OF NEW PLYMOUTH, 12 vols. [Boston, 1855-61], 8:10 [FHL #974.4 N2n]).
DEATH: No death/bur rec found. There is a tradition that the father of John Phinney/Finney died enroute to America. See Howard Finney, FINNEY-PHINNEY FAMILIES IN AMERICA (Richmond, VA, 1957), 1 (FHL #929.273 P5524p).
