- BIRTH: Date and place of birth are approximations. George was a servant of Edward Winslow, fellow passenger on the "Mayflower," and signer of the Mayflower Compact in 1620; hence, he was an adult at that time. See "The Mayflower Compact," MAYFLOWER DESCENDANT, 1(1899):77-79 (FHL #974.4D25md).
MAR: No mar rec found. George was single when he emigrated in 1620, but he must have married in Plymouth Colony by 1626. He had a wife Mary and son Zachariah listed in the division of cattle, 22 May 1627 (Nathaniel B. Shurtleff and David Pulsifer, eds, RECORDS OF THE COLONY OF NEW PLYMOUTH, 12 vols. [Boston, 1855-61], 12:12 [FHL #974.4 N2n]). A study of single women named Mary arriving in the colony before 1626 leaves only the Mary Beckett who came on the "Anne" in 1623 unaccounted for (Eugene A. Stratton, PLYMOUTH COLONY: ITS HISTORY & PEOPLE [Salt Lake City, UT, 1986], 243-44 [FHL #974.4 H2s]).
DEATH: No death rec found. See the will of George Soule of Duxbury, 11 Aug 1677, codicil 20 Sep 1677, no probate act, inv 22 Jan 1679/80, Plymouth Colony Probate, 4:50-51 (FHL #567794).
OCC: Servant to Edward Winslow, yeoman. "Mayflower" passenger of 1620 and signer of the "Mayflower Compact."
