- BIRTH: Manor court roll of Chesham, Bucks, 16 Apr 1537, cited in G. Andrews Moriarty, "Baldwin of Bucks and Connecticut," NEHGR, 110(1956):310 (FHL #974 B2ne). The court roll identifies John as the son and heir of Robert Baldwin. John is called "brother" in the will of Richard Baldwin, of Aston Clinton, 16 Jan 1552/3, proved 21 Feb 1552/3, Archdeaconry Court of Buckingham, reg wills, 9:156 (FHL #088495). Date of birth is calculated from age 59 given on interrogatories concerning the chapel of St. Leonards in Aston Clinton (BUCKS ARCHEOLOGICAL SOCIETY, 121/17, cited in A. Vere Woodman, "The Baldwins of Dundridge and Chesham in Co. Bucks.," NEHGR, 113[1959]:247 [FHL #974 B2ne]).
