- BIRTH: John is identified in the will of his mother, Alice Purcas of Great Yeldham, "widow of Thomas Purcas," 13 Nov 1575, proved 15 May 1578, Commissary Court of the Bishop of London (Essex & Herts Div), orig wills, box 29, #29 (FHL #094384). Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR: John was married, but wife's name is unknown. Margery, dau of John Purcas, is mentioned in the will of Alice Purcas, above.
DEATH: No death/bur rec found. John was dead before his mother wrote her will, 13 Nov 1575, above.
NOTE: John is unlikely to be the John Purcas of Great Yeldham, who was buried on 16 Jan 1573/4. The will of this man mentions siblings not mentioned in the will of his mother.
