Although proof has not been found, it is known that Thomas Meakins had a wife Sarah by 1695. See Hampshire Co. Deeds (Springfield Reg), D:459 (FHL #844487). Thomas Miller, the son-in-law of Thomas Meakins, with Samuel Wells, son of Sarah (Clark) Wells, were joint administrators of the estate of Mary Meakins of Hartford on 3 Jan 1737/8, Hartford District Probate, abstracted in Charles W. Manwaring, ed, DIGEST OF THE EARLY CONNECTICUT PROBATE RECORDS, 3 vols. (Hartford, 1904-1906), 3:180 (FHL #974.6 P2m). Theological explanation is that Thomas Meakins married Sarah (Clark) Wells.
DEATH: No death rec found. Sarah was living in 1723. See the inv of estate of Thomas Meakins of Hartford, 5 Jun 1723, adm to widow Sarah, 25 Jun 1723, Hartford District Probate, abstracted in Manwaring, DIGEST,2:546.
