    • BIRTH: DORCHESTER BIRTHS, MARRIAGES AND DEATHS, 21st Report Boston Record Commissioners (Boston, 1890), 6 (FHL #974.46/D1 V2r).
      CHR: RECORDS OF THE FIRST CHURCH AT DORCHESTER IN NEW ENGLAND (Boston, 1891), 161 (FHL #833385).
      MAR: No mar rec found. Samuel married Hannah, dau of Gov. Robert Treat, according to Horace E. Mather, LINEAGE OF REV. RICHARD MATHER (Hartford, 1890), 73-74 (FHL #186133 item 2). Although no proof has been found, it is noted that Robert Treat bequeathed Samuel Mather one share of his land in the Oweantinoque Purchase in his will, dated 5 Jan 1707. The same bequest was made to Samuel Andrew, another son-in-law. The will also mentions a dau Hannah but does not give her surname. Verbatim copy of the will is found in John Harvey Treat, THE TREAT FAMILY (Salem, MA, 1893), 162-63 (FHL #1036492 item 6). The same work also states that Samuel Mather married Hannah Treat (Ibid, 183). Samuel and Hannah Mather of Windsor deeded 300 acres of land in Milford to Lt. Joseph Treat on 26 Sep 1705. The land had been received from Robert Treat (Milford, Conn. Deeds, 3:338 [FHL #004918]).
