- BIRTH: Robert Sanborn family rec contains birth date but not place. This is a contemporary document kept by Robert Sanborn (copy in possession of Clifford L. Stott received from Robert Fales, West Springfield, Mass.). James's mar rec, below, states he was born in Sharon, Vermont. His death rec, below, gives him an age of 28 yrs, 9 mo, 6 days on date of death, 8 May 1870, which calculates to a birth date of "2" Aug 1841. James B. Sanborn, age 9, was enumerated in the household of Robert Sanborn in the 1850 U.S. census of Sharon, Vermont, p. 44, dwelling 150 (FHL #444929).
