- Description: The idea that Olga was adopted by Peter and Mariane Geertsen is an old one, but it's not supported by the facts. First of all, she was born 7 or 9 Feb 1883 in Copenhagen, Denmark, not Avon, UT. Her parents were Carl Christian Alfred Busch and Sophia Louise Ulstrom. The reason she is connected to the Geertsens is that her baptism and confirmation are recorded in the Geertsen family Bible. This led to the idea that she had been adopted. In fact it seems that she stayed with the Geertsens for a short time until her mother came over from Denmark in about 1895 (her father died in Denmark in 1887). She never took the name Geertsen. She was Olga Busch, living in Logan, in the 1900 Census. She married Edward Gibbons in 1904.
