- BIRTH: Reuben is identified in the will of his father, Thomas Stonestreet of Bethersden, 6 Jan 1579/80, proved 24 Feb 1579/80, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 43:264 (FHL #188942). Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR #1: No mar rec found. Reuben Stonestreet's wife Susan was buried on 19 Apr 1603 (Bethersden ATs [FHL #1751588 item 3]). Susan is identified in the will of her father, Robert Witherden of Bethersden, 26 Nov 1588, proved 19 Sep 1592, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 48:412(FHL #188946). Reuben had children baptized at Bethersden, 1571-1589/90. Hence, he was probably married about 1570.
MAR #2: No mar rec found, but license to marry widow Elizabeth Pope was issued on 9 Sep 1607. See Canterbury Diocese Register of General Licences, 6:119 (FHL #1836330 item 4). Reuben was called a clothier of Bethersden, widower; Elizabeth was a widow of Boughton Malherbe. The lic was to marry at St. Margaret's Canterbury, but the marriage was not found in St. Margaret's ATs of BTs because of missing transcripts. Elizabeth's maiden surname is unknown.
