- BIRTH: Thomas is identified in the will of his father, Henry Turner of Hothfield, 20 May 1587, proved 27 Jan 1592, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 49:301 (FHL #188947). He is also identified in the will of his mother, Faith Turner of Hothfield, 21 Mar 1601/2, proved 25 May 1602, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 52:276 (FHL #188950). Thomas is listed as the 4th son in the 1663 Visitation of Kent, published in Joseph Jackson Howard and Robert Hovenden, eds, SOME PEDIGREES FROM THE VISITATION OF KENT, 1663-1668 (London, 1887), 2-3 (FHL #942.23 D2ho). Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR: No mar rec found. Thomas Turner, clothier of Lenham, was licensed to marry Jane Virgine, virgin of same parish, 31 Jan 1597/8. See Joseph Meadows Cowper, ed, CANTERBURY MARRIAGE LICENCES, 6 vols. (Canterbury 1892-1906), 1:426 (FHL #942.23 V25c). The mar was not found in Lenham ATs, however.
