- BIRTH: Martha is identified in the will of her father, Henry Turner of Hothfield, 20 May 1587, proved 27 Jan 1592, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 49:301 (FHL #188947). She is also identified in the will of her mother, Faith Turner of Hothfield, 21 Mar 1601/2, proved 25 May 1602, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 52:276 (FHL #188950). Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR #1: No mar rec found. She is called Martha Hull or Hall in her mother's will, above. She is apparently the Martha Turner who was licensed to marry Richard "Hawll" of Old Romney, 14 Aug 1592. See Joseph Meadows Cowper, ed, CANTERBURY MARRIAGE LICENCES, 6 vols. (Canterbury 1892-1906), 1:190 (FHL #942.23 V25c). Richard Hall was buried at Old Romney, 5 Mar 1601/2 (Old Romney ATs [FHL #1752063]).
MAR #2: St. Margaret's Canterbury ATs (FHL #1751625 item 2). The mar is also recorded in Old Romney ATs with the notation that the event occurred at Canterbury (FHL #1752063).
