- BIRTH: David is identified in the will of his father, Simon Stone of Gt. Bromley, 28 Jul 1557, no probate act, Commissary Court of London (Essex & Herts Div), orig wills, box 33, #13 (FHL #094391). Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR #1: Not recorded in the transcript of Gt. Bromley par reg made in 1903; however, the date and place of mar is included in J. Gardner Bartlett, SIMON STONE GENEALOGY (Boston, 1926), 38 (FHL #1018914 item 7). The mar is confirmed in Percival Boyd, BOYD'S MARRIAGE INDEX, 1st series, Essex, 2:188 (FHL #942.67 K22b). The entry may have been illegible when the 1903 transcript was made.
MAR #2: No mar rec found. Children of David and Ursula Stone were baptized at Gt. Bromley as early as 1585/6 ("A Transcript of the Parish Register Book 1 of Great Bromley" [transcript, 1903], unpaginated [FHL #571178 item 8]).
NOTE: David and his 2nd wife, Ursula, were the parents of New England immigrants, Simon and Gregory Stone.
