- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Benjamin received a deed of gift from his father, Joseph Chamberlin of Colchester, 25 Jan 1730/1 (Colchester Deeds, 3:172 [FHL #003890]). Year of birth is calculated from age 48 on death rec, below. The family was probably living in Hatfield when Benjamin was born, as his brother John was born there in 1669/1700, and Joseph was not granted a home lot in Colchester until 3 July 1704, suggesting he arrived near then (Ibid, 1:47 [FHL #003889]).
MAR: Colchester Deeds, 3:455. Although the marriage date is given as 14 Dec 1731, the list of children following the mar shows that two children were born before this date, the first on 12 Oct 1728. A third child was born on 27 Dec 1731, two weeks after the mar date. The correct mar year was probably 1727.
DEATH: Colchester 1st Congregational Church recs, vol. 1, unpaginated (FHL #003910). Aged 48 yrs.
