Scovill's 1st name is not given in mar entry, but the mar is also recorded in East Haddam vital recs, showing that Scovill's given name was Daniel ("East Haddam Births, Marriages, Deaths, 1643-1857," Barbour Collection [typescript, 1923; Conn. State Library, Hartford], 154 [FHL #002969]). Moreover, Daniel and Meriam Scovill of East Haddam, deeded their interest in the lands of William Chamberlin in Colchester and Hebron to Nathaniel Chamberlin, 3 Jun 1757 (Colchester Deeds, 7:336 [FHL #003892]). Mar date is given as "1" July 1756 in East Haddam vital recs.
