- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Daniel's father is identified in chr rec at Edgartown, below, but no chr date was given. Birth date is found in Charles Edward Banks, HISTORY OF MARTHA'S VINEYARD, 3 vols. (Boston 1911-25; repr Edgartown, MA, 1966), 3:223 (FHL #974.494 H2b). The age on his death rec, below, calculates to the same birth date. Also see the deed from Thomas Jones of Tisbury to Daniel Jones of Chilmark, 27 Apr 1789 (Dukes Co. Deeds, 12:347 [FHL #911715]). The document indicates that Daniel and Thomas are heirs of Ebenezer Jones.
CHR: VITAL RECORDS OF EDGARTOWN (Boston, 1906), 41 (FHL #974.494/E1 V2v). No chr date is given, but father is identified.
MAR: BOSTON MARRIAGES, 1752-1809, 30th Report Boston Record Commissioners (Boston, 1903; repr Baltimore, 1977), 374 (FHL #974.461 V2b). Husband was "of Dartmouth."
DEATH: VITAL RECORDS OF CHILMARK (Boston, 1904), 88 (FHL #974.494/C1 V2v). Aged 76 yrs, 3 mo, 15 days. Death month is given as June in printed vital recs. However, Banks gives the month as January (Banks, HISTORY, 3:223). Banks is no doubt correct, as Daniel's will was made in Sep and proved in Apr. See the will of Daniel Jones of Chilmark, 15 Sep 1804, proved 8 Apr 1816, Dukes Co. Probate, 9:261 (FHL #911749).
