- BIRTH: No birth/chr rec found. Peter deposed, aged 38 yrs, on 21 Jun 1669 (RECORDS AND FILES OF THE QUARTERLY COURTS OF ESSEX COUNTY, 9 vols. [Salem, MA, 1911-75], 4:154 [FHL #974.45 P2e]). He also deposed, aged "about" 30 yrs, on 25 Mar 1662 (Ibid, 2:355). In each case he was testifying for John Godfrey, and again for him on 12 Sep 1675 (Ibid, 6:71). It is likely that Peter and John are brothers.

DEATH: Ibid, 2:598. Also see will of Peter Godfrey of Newbury, 6 Mar 1693/4, proved 27 Dec 1697, inv 2 Nov 1697, Essex Co. Probate, (o.s.) 306:12-13 (FHL #860486). The inv of estate declares that Peter died on 1 Oct 1697.
