MAR: No mar rec found. The adm of estate of John Wells of Wells, Maine was granted to his widow Sarah Sawyer, Thomas Wells, and Nathaniel Wells, 6 Nov 1677. William Sawyer, husband of Sarah, and Francis Littlefield, Sarah's father, were put under bond to distribute the estate to the children of John Wells, 4 Dec 1677 (PROVINCE AND COURT RECORDS OF MAINE, 6 vols. [Portland, ME, 1928-75], 2:334-35, 337-38, 518-19 [FHL #974.1 P2p]). Hence, Sarah Littlefield married (1) John Wells, and (2) before 6 Nov 1677, William Sawyer.
