See Sybil Noyes, Charles Thornton Libby, and Walter Goodwin Davis, GENEALOGICAL DICTIONARY OF MAINE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE (Portland, ME, 1928-39; repr Baltimore, 1983), 568 (FHL #974 D2n). He is almost certainly not the James Prescott of royal descent, who was baptized at Driby, Lincs in 1642/3, as claimed in William Prescott, THE PRESCOTT MEMORIAL (Boston, 1870), 35 (FHL #982013 item 3).
