- BIRTH: No birth/chr rec found. Bovingdon par regs lost before 1674 (BTs exist from 1604). Although there is no proof that John is a son of Richard Gould, it seems very likely. John had 3 children who settled in Essex Co., Mass., where siblings Zaccheus and Priscilla settled. Furthermore, John gave a son the unusual name of Zaccheus. Kings Langley, where John is buried, borders the parish of Bovingdon. For mention of children in New England, see the will of John's widow, Judith Gould of Watford, Herts, 6 May 1650, proved 3 Sep 1650, P.C.C., 145 Pembroke (FHL #092177). John's date and place of birth are approximations.
