No place of residence is mentioned in the will, but deeds show that Caleb was living in Rowley as late as 12 Dec 1687; therefore, it is probable that he died in Rowley. See Essex Co. Before her mar to Rayner, Elizabeth was the wife of Humphrey Gilbert of Ipswich, whose will, 14 Feb 1657/8, proved 30 Mar 1658, mentions wife Elizabeth. On 26 Jun 1666 William Rayner, "husband of Elizabeth, late wife and administratrix of Humfry Gilbert, deceased," was ordered to pay a legacy to Gilbert's dau Hannah (Ibid, 1:264-67).
