She was the widow of Ralph Day, who died at Dedham, 28 Nov 1677 (Ibid, 15). Ralph Day and Abigail Ruggles married at Dedham, 10 Nov 1659 (Ibid, 127). She was apparently the widow of John Ruggles, who died at Roxbury, 15 Sep 1658. John Ruggles and Abigail Crafts married at Roxbury, 24 Jan 1650 (VITAL RECORDS OF ROXBURY, 2 vols. [Salem, MA, 1925-26], 2:92, 627 [FHL #974.46/R2 V2r]). Hence, Abigail Crafts married (1) John Ruggles, (2) Ralph Day, (3) Edward Adams.

Furthermore, when the town of Medfield distributed copies of the "law book" of the colony in 1660, one copy was assigned to John Fussell, Jonathan Adams, Peter Adams, and Edward Adams, suggesting John Fussell was connected to Henry Adams' sons. No place of residence is stated in the will or estate documents. However, the death of her 2nd husband, Thomas Wight, is recorded in Medfield vital recs, and he was called "late of Medfield" on 24 Mar 1673/4, when his inv was taken (Suffolk Co. Probate, #680, [o.s.] 7:357-60 [FHL #584128]). It is most probable that Lydia died in Medfield.

BIRTH: John Adams was administrator of the estate of his, father Henry Adams of Barton St. David, 12 Aug 1596, Diocesan Registry of Bath and Wells, cited in J. Gardner Bartlett, HENRY ADAMS OF SOMERSETSHIRE (New York, 1927), 37 (FHL #929. 273 Ad17bj). Original recs of this court were destroyed in 1942.
MAR: No mar rec found. A wife Agnes is mentioned in John's will, below. She may have been the dau of John and Agnes Stone. On 27 May 1597, John Adams became bondsman for Agnes Stone, widow of John Stone, and executrix of his will (Ibid, 38).

BIRTH: Henry is called a "probable" son of William Squire in J. Gardner Bartlett, HENRY ADAMS OF SOMERSETSHIRE (New York, 1927), 52 (FHL #929.273 Ad17bj). Bartlett apparently based his conclusion on the fact that no other candidates for Henry's father were found in the parish of Charlton Mackrell where Henry resided. Date of birth is calculated from age "about 16" given on deposition. Place of birth is suggested by William Squire's known residence in Charleton Mackrell in 1545 and 1554 (Bartlett, HENRY ADAMS, 52). Also see the will of John Drue, Jr, of Charleton Mackrell, which was witnessed by William "Squier," Parson, on 22 Jan 1564/5 (SOMERSET WILLS FROM EXETER, Somerset Record Society, 62[1952]:134 [FHL #942.38 B4s]).
DEATH: No death rec found. Henry was dead before 25 Dec 1649, when his dau Margaret and her husband John Shepherd of Braintree, Mass. granted power of attorney to John Adams. Henry Squire was reportedly "late of Kinweston neere Somerton in Somersetshire" (ASPINWALL NOTARIAL RECORDS, 1644-1651, 32nd Report Boston Record Commissioners [Boston, 1903], 267 [FHL #974.461 H2b]).
