Notes:

BIRTH: No birth/chr rec found. Daniel is believed to be a son of Robert and Mary Pond because he was chosen guardian to Mercy Pond, minor dau of Robert Pond (son of Robert and Mary) on 5 May 1675 (Suffolk Co. Court Files, #1386 [FHL #911127]). The younger Robert identified William Pond as his brother in his will, 19 Oct 1662, proved 13 May 1663, Suffolk Co. Probate, #339, (n.s.) 2:288-91 (FHL #594359). William is almost certainly a son of Robert Pond, Sr, by reason of William's petition to the General Court with the widow Mary Pond for adm of Robert Pond's estate on 10 May 1648 (Nathaniel B. Shurtleff, ed, RECORDS OF THE GOVERNOR AND COMPANY OF THE MASSACHUSETTS BAY, 5 vols. [Boston, 1853-54], 2:246 [FHL #974.4 N2s]). It is also significant that Daniel's 1st wife was his step-sister, the dau of Edward Shephard, his mother's 2nd husband. Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR #1: No mar rec found. The 1st wife of Daniel Pond is identified as Abigail Shephard in the will of her father, Edward Shephard of Cambridge, 1 Oct 1674, proved 20 Jun 1680, Middlesex Co. Probate Files, 1st series, #20271 (FHL #421517).

BIRTH: No birth/chr rec found. On 23 Jul 1630 Gov. John Winthrop wrote to his son John in Groton: "Commend me to old Pond, and tell him both his sons are well, and remember their duty to him. He must needs send his son John some more provisions" (John Winthrop, THE HISTORY OF NEW ENGLAND, ed James Savage, 2 vols. [Boston, 1825], 1:375 [FHL #974 H2w]). It is possible that the other son, not named, is Robert. John disappeared from New England recs and probably returned to England. Research in Groton and vicinity has identified William Pond and his sons John, William, and Joseph. No son Robert has been found, nor is Robert mentioned in William's will.
MAR: No mar rec found. Mary Pond and William Pond petitioned for the administration of the estate of Robert Pond(?) on 10 May 1648 (Nathaniel B. Shurtleff, ed, RECORDS OF THE GOVERNOR AND COMPANY OF THE MASSACHUSETTS BAY, 5 vols. [Boston, 1853-54], 2:246 [FHL #974.4 N2s]). Widow Mary Pond was dismissed from the church at Dorchester and admitted to the Cambridge church as the wife of Edward Shephard. Entry is undated but apparently before 1650/1 (Stephen Pascall Sharples, RECORDS OF THE CHURCH OF CHRIST AT CAMBRIDGE IN NEW ENGLAND, [Boston, 1906], 7 [FHL #974.44/C1 V27s]). On 24 Feb 1650/1, Edward Shephard of Cambridge deeded land in Dorchester to John Blackman of Dorchester, "lately belonging to Robert Pond, father-in-law to the said John, deceased" (SUFFOLK DEEDS, 14 vols. [Boston, 1880-1906], 3:72 [FHL #493932]). Hence, Mary married (1) Robert Pond, (2) Edward Shephard, whom she married between 1648 and 1650/1.
