CHR: Kersey BTs, Archdeaconry of Sudbury, 1606 (FHL #989632). Although this transcript does not mention the name of the parish, the names of others in the same transcript are found in Kersey par reg. Supporting evidence of John Gage's age is found in RECORDS AND FILES OF THE QUARTERLY COURTS OF ESSEX COUNTY, 9 vols. (Salem, MA, 1911-75), 2:169 (age "about 50" on 27 Sep 1659) and 2:365 (age "about 58" in Mar 1662) (FHL #974.45 P2e).
MAR #1: No mar rec found. "Amy wife of John Gage" died at Ipswich, Jun 1658 (VITAL RECORDS OF IPSWICH, 3 vols. [Salem, MA, 1910-19], 2:563 [FHL #974.45/I2 V2e]).
MAR #2: Ibid, 2:179. Wife is called Sarah Keyes, but she was apparently the widow of Robert Keyes of Watertown and Newbury. Sarah Gage died at Newbury on 7 Jul 1681 (VITAL RECORDS OF NEWBURY, 2 vols. [Salem, MA, 1911], 2:596 [FHL #974.45/N1 V28v]). On 27 Sep 1681 the court ordered her estate to be equally divided among her three daughters, wives of William Smith, John French, and Samuel Buswell (THE PROBATE RECORDS OF ESSEX COUNTY, 3 vols. [Salem, MA, 1916-20], 3:413 [FHL #974.45 P2p]). These three men married daughters of Robert and Sarah Keyes.
