That she is a dau of Thomas Bishop is confirmed by a letter from Thomas Bishop to John Phinney of Barnstable, 10 Apr 1654, concerning his (Bishop's) grandchildren, the children of Abigail by her 1st husband Henry Coggin (Plymouth Colony Deeds, 2:1:135-36 [FHL #567789]). The mar is also recorded in Nathaniel B. Shurtleff and David Pulsifer, eds, RECORDS OF THE COLONY OF NEW PLYMOUTH, 12 vols. (Boston, 1855-61), 8:47 (FHL #974.4 N2n). MAR: No mar rec found. Robert's widow died at Plymouth, Mass., 22 Apr1650, as "Mother Feney aged fourscore years and upwards" (Nathaniel B. Shurtleff and David Pulsifer, eds, RECORDS OF THE COLONY OF NEW PLYMOUTH, 12 vols. [Boston, 1855-61], 8:10 [FHL #974.4 N2n]).
DEATH: No death/bur rec found. There is a tradition that the father of John Phinney/Finney died enroute to America. See Howard Finney, FINNEY-PHINNEY FAMILIES IN AMERICA (Richmond, VA, 1957), 1 (FHL #929.273 P5524p).
