Generation: 1

  1. 1.  Warren, Sarah was born about 1614 in England (daughter of Warren, Richard and Walker, Elizabeth); died after 15 Jul 1696 in Dartmouth,Bristol,MA(?).

    Notes:

BIRTH: No birth rec found. Sarah is identified as a sister in the will of Nathaniel Warren of Plymouth, 29 Jun 1667, proved 30 Oct 1667, Plymouth Colony Probate, 2:2:46-47 (FHL #567794). Nathaniel is a proved son of Richard Warren. See settlement of estate of Richard Warren of Plymouth, 11 June 1653, Plymouth Colony Deeds, 2:1:73-75 (FHL #567789). Sarah is listed as the 3rd dau of Richard Warren in the cattle division of 22 May 1627 (Nathaniel B. Shurtleff and David Pulsifer, eds, RECORDS OF THE COLONY OF NEW PLYMOUTH, 12 vols. [Boston, 1855-61], 12:12 [FHL #974.4 N2n]). Anna, the 2nd dau, gave her age as 60 in deposition dated 6 Jun 1672 (Plymouth Colony Probate, 3:1:40 [FHL #567794]). Therefore, Sarah's birth year is after 1612, and she was of marriageable age by 1634; hence, she was born abt 1614.
MAR: Shurtleff, RECORDS OF THE COLONY OF NEW PLYMOUTH, 1:29. She is called Sarah "Cook" in the will of her brother Nathaniel Warren, above.
DEATH: No death rec found. Sarah was living at Dartmouth on 15 Jul 1696, when she signed executrix bond on the estate of her late husband, John Cook of Dartmouth (Bristol County Probate Files [FHL #572852]).

  1. 2.  Warren, Richard was born about 1579 in England; died in 1628 in Plymouth,Plymouth,MA.

    Notes:

BIRTH: Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR: No mar rec found. Richard's wife Elizabeth is identified in his settlement of estate, below. DeForest believed Elizabeth was his second wife based on his interpretation of William Bradford's HISTORY OF PLYMOUTH PLANTATION: "Mr. Richard Warren lived some 4 or 5 years, and had his wife come over to him, by whom he had 2 sons...but he had 5 doughters more came over with his wife..." See L. Effingham DeForest and Anne Lawrence DeForrest, MOORE AND ALLIED FAMILIES (New York, 1938), 563 (FHL #1421429). The evidence seems inconclusive.
DEATH: Nathaniel Morton, NEW ENGLAND'S MEMORIAL (1669; repr Plymouth, 1826), 135 (FHL #1421589 item 3). Also see the settlement of estate of Richard Warren of Plymouth, 11 Jun 1653, Plymouth Colony Deeds, 2:1:73-75 (FHL #567794).
