BIRTH: No birth rec found. Caleb is identified in the will of his father, Thomas Lumbert of Barnstable, 23 Mar 1662/3, proved 7 Mar 1664, Plymouth Colony Probate, 2:2:24-25 (FHL #567794). Date and place of birth are approximations based on chronology of family and known residence in Dorchester during the period. See Robert S. Wakefield, "Lombard Family of Barnstable," TAG, 52(1976):137 (FHL #973 D25aga).
MAR: Caleb was said to have married, but the name of his wife is unknown (Wakefield, "Lombard Family," 137-38). No evidence has been found in original source records.
BUR: St. Michael's, Bridgetown (Anglican) par reg (FHL #1157923). Caleb was "of New England."

MAR #2: No mar rec found. Children born 1617-23. Wife's name unknown, but gap in births of children, 1608-17, suggest another wife.
MAR #3: No mar rec found. Children born ca. 1635-42. Wife's name unknown, unless she is Joyce mentioned below. Gap in births of children, 1617-35, suggests a third wife.
MAR #4: Thomas Lumbert had a widow Joyce who exhibited his inv of estate and made oath, 6 Mar 1664/5 (Plymouth Colony Probate, 2:2:25 [FHL #567794]). It is possible that Joyce was the 3rd wife, but there is circumstantial evidence that she was earlier the wife of Ralph Wallen of Plymouth and was still a widow as late as 1644/5.
