Notes:

BIRTH: Agnes is mentioned by name only on her burial rec, below. She was apparently the daughter of Thomas Denne (a Denne) of Barham, who mentions the children of Richard Austen in his own will, 3 May 1552, proved 21 Sep 1552, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 28:25 (FHL #188933). Her identification as a dau of Thomas Denne is also indicated in the Boteler MS, a contemporary document, showing that Richard Austen married a daughter of Thomas "Danne" of Adisham (cited in "Wills and Notices of Austen of Kent," MISCELLANEA GENEALOGICA ET HERALDICA, new series, 2[1877]:339 [FHL #942 B2m]). In addition, the will of Thomas Denne's son, Michael Denne of Ickham, 25 Aug 1594, proved 8 Sep 1594, refers to Valentine Austen of Adisham as a cousin, and makes him overseer of his will (Consistory Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 37:198 [FHL #188850]). Valentine is the son of Richard Austen. Date and place of Agnes's birth are approximations.
