NOTE: It is stated that John went to Colchester, Conn. where he died, 7 Aug 1755. See Paul Franklin Johnson, GENEALOGY OF CAPTAIN JOHN JOHNSON OF ROXBURY (Los Angeles, 1951), 12 (FHL #929.273 J63jp). However, the death of this John Johnson, recorded in Colchester 1st Congregational Church recs, shows that he was 67 yrs old, making him too young to be the John Johnson born in 1679 (FHL #003910).
