Anthony Colby married his widow, and they sold the land to James Pennyman, who sold the land to Stevenson (SUFFOLK DEEDS, 14 vols. [Boston, 1880-1906], 11:176-77 [FHL #974.46 R2s]). Hence, Anthony Colby's wife was 1st married to a Waterman, given name unknown.

Susannah Whittridge petitioned the court on 28 Mar 1682 to sell part of the estate of her former husband, Anthony Colby, for her necessary support (THE PROBATE RECORDS OF ESSEX COUNTY, 3 vols. [Salem, MA, 1916-20], 1:409 [FHL #974.45 P2p]). The adm of estate of William Whittridge of Ipswich was granted to his son Thomas Whittridge on 19 Dec 1668. The name of the widow is not mentioned (PROBATE RECORDS OF ESSEX COUNTY, 2:143-45). The estate records of widow Susannah Whittridge, below, mention her Colby children and her "son" Thomas Whittridge. Hence, Susannah married 3rd to William Whittridge.
